Terms
the few rules for being in this house
Updated 8 October 2026.
The short version
These are the rules for using The Grey Strand. Read, listen, play and look around for free. Be decent to the house and to the people in it. What you find here is creative work, made with AI in the workshop: it can help you think, and it isn’t professional advice. If you buy something, the refund policy says how to get your money back. Using the house means you agree to these terms; if you don’t, please don’t use it.
Who you’re dealing with
The Grey Strand (thegreystrand.com) is run by Nick Mokashi, who creates as Greygray, an independent creator in Idaho, in the United States. “I” and “me” on these pages mean him. Write to [email protected], or by post to 1901 Caldwell Blvd #1026, Nampa, ID 83651. Formal legal notices go to that address too.
Using the house
Almost everything here is free and needs no account: the pieces, the podcast, the research, the stories, the frequencies, the Mirror’s free pulls and the games. You need to be at least 13 to use the house. If you’re under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to buy anything.
What this is, and what it isn’t
The writing, the podcast, the research, the stories, the tarot, the frequencies and the games are creative, educational, spiritual and entertainment work. None of it is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and none of it replaces a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer or an adviser who knows your situation. Some pieces talk about sobriety, grief and hard nights. If you’re in crisis in the US, call or text 988, and call 911 in an emergency.
Tarot and frequencies
A reading in the Mirror is a tool for reflection. It doesn’t predict the future, diagnose anything or tell you what to do. The frequencies are tones to listen to, not a treatment. Use your own judgement, and get real help for real problems.
AI in the workshop
AI helps make much of the work here, and the house says so (how the work is made). Some things are written by an AI while you use them: the Mirror’s readings, the characters you talk to in No Wrong Place, and a forecast in one of the hidden rooms. AI can be wrong, strange or out of date, and it can sound sure when it isn’t. Treat what it says as a starting point, not as a fact or an instruction. Please don’t use those features to harass anyone, to make anything illegal, or to try to make them produce something harmful.
Research and sources
The research is careful, and its sources are listed and linked so you can check them. Still, research moves on and mistakes happen. If you find one, write and tell me. None of it is advice for your particular situation.
The games
No Wrong Place, The Grey Beyond and Eonweld are free to play. Two extras cost money: unlimited live AI conversation in No Wrong Place, and Google’s detailed, photographic Earth in The Grey Beyond. “Unlimited” means nobody counts your minutes, but every player’s live AI shares one daily budget, and if it is ever used up, conversation goes back to the game’s written paths until midnight UTC. The detailed Earth comes from Google and is only there when Google’s service is. In the Lantern Court, people can type to each other: slurs are refused, and a line can be reported. Scores go on a public board under the name you choose. Games change as they grow, and I may adjust, pause or retire a feature.
Buying something
Everything is priced in US dollars.
- Game passes are paid on Stripe’s page: No Wrong Place for 30 days, $5; both games for 30 days, $7.50; five visits to The Grey Beyond’s detailed Earth, $5. Each is one payment. Nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel. A pass starts as soon as the payment goes through. Until the detailed Earth can be served, only the No Wrong Place pass is on sale.
- Tarot readings aren’t sold any more. Each of the Mirror’s deeper spreads gives you one free sample, and a reading bought on Ko-fi before can still be redeemed there with its order ID.
- Tips on Ko-fi, once or monthly, are gifts. They buy nothing and unlock nothing. A monthly tip renews each month until you cancel it on Ko-fi.
- Paid subscriptions to the newsletter are sold and billed by Substack. They renew until you cancel them in your Substack settings.
- Books are sold by Amazon, on Amazon’s terms.
The refund policy says how to get your money back.
No accounts, so a pass lives in your browser
There are no accounts here. A pass belongs to the browser you bought it in, through a random ID that isn’t your name. If you clear this site’s data, or move to another browser or device, the game may not know you any more. Write to me with your Stripe receipt: the refund policy covers the first 14 days, and after that I’ll still do what I can.
What you send me, and what you leave here
When you write to me, share your work in The Calling, choose a name for a scoreboard, type in the Lantern Court or leave a mark in a hidden room, you keep whatever rights you have in it. You let me show it on the site for as long as it’s up, and you promise it’s yours to share and breaks no law. I read everything sent for The Calling before it goes up, and I don’t post everything I’m sent. I can take down anything that breaks these terms. Ask, and I’ll take your contribution down.
Please don’t
Don’t break, overload or probe the site or its servers. Don’t scrape it in bulk or copy it wholesale. Don’t try to get around a payment or a limit. Don’t post anything hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or illegal, or anything private about someone else, and don’t pretend to be someone you aren’t. If you do, I can remove what you posted and block your access.
Who owns what
The words, pictures, music and sound, the tarot deck, the games and the software here belong to Nick Mokashi (Greygray), except where something is credited to someone else or is in the public domain. Some of the work is made with AI tools; where the law gives rights in that work, they’re his. You’re welcome to read, play and listen, to download the free files for your own use, and to quote a short passage with credit and a link. Please don’t republish whole pieces, sell the work, or pass it off as yours without asking first. The free books in the Library link to public domain copies kept by other sites, under those sites’ terms. If you think something here infringes your copyright, write to me with the details and I’ll look into it.
Other people’s services
Stripe, Ko-fi, Substack, Amazon, Google, Cloudflare, OpenAI and Anthropic each run part of what you see here, under their own terms and privacy policies. I don’t control them, and I can’t fix their outages.
No promises beyond these
The house is offered as it is. I work to keep it running and right, but I can’t promise it will always be there, free of mistakes, or suited to your purpose. To the extent the law allows, I make no other promises about it.
Limits on what I owe
To the extent the law allows, I’m not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses from using the house, like lost profits, lost data, or a decision you made because of a reading, a piece or an AI’s answer. If I am responsible for something, the most I owe you is what you paid me in the 12 months before it happened, or $50 if that’s more. Nothing here limits a responsibility that the law doesn’t let anyone limit.
Your rights stay yours
Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the consumer laws where you live.
If something goes wrong between us
Please write to me first; most things can be put right with a letter. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho and of the United States. Any dispute goes to the courts in Idaho, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it closer to home. Either of us can use small claims court.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with them, and the new terms apply from then on. Anything you already bought keeps the terms you bought it under.
